You've moved away. you've changed chariot of fire or chariot of gold Bring sand and earth; wood and hammer forge fast and don't lose faith We'll pass through fire and stone to reach our canvas of earth There we'll find nothing and everything: whatever you want it to be The buildings have started, small and tall scraping the sky or scraping the earth's core Forged with blood, sweat, tears and fear your creation of love and hate We'll pass through fire and stone to reach our canvas of earth There we'll find nothing and everything: whatever you want it to be Screw you and your royal scam

Sun light coming through the blinds with no direction seen a prism breaks it all apart and lets the colours dance around and through the towns and quiet city streets, time can be heard calling, like a fog horn in a bay You better swim before you drown swim before you sink to the ground while you tread water, time does not relapse instead moves faster than you can clasp The clock parade is a race which you cannot win run as you might the wheels keep on turning so you run the other way, screaming for help but then you realize you can only dust off yourself You better swim before you drown swim before you sink to the ground while you tread water, time does not relapse instead moves faster than you can clasp

Raindance 04:29
Four walls closing around me it's all see, all I know, all I want control me like a simple puppet use me like the simple man I am One lie for you, one life for me adorning my box as picture-esque scenery I want my life, but you hold the key a smile on your face means that I'm not free No perception of reality, what is it anyway? something to live, something to own, something to give away you draw your cornered circles that are really just squares confined by limitation, I am yours to share One shot for you, two hits for me what the power decides it what I'm lead to be whether triumphant with valor, or hiding in shame my question remains, "who is to blame?" You've driven me to dance in the rain surely I must be insane You've lead my to dance under the rain how long have I been insane? You've lead into the dance of the rain surely you must be insane Are we all insane?

Sleeping pills on my mind when I fall asleep they numb my brain and the pain that I keep keep them fresh, fresher than the mountain air but keep them all 'cause numbness can't be shared Oh can we stop this machine? ever turning it's cogs through flesh stomping and pounding, it screams for more I'd rather just take my sleeping pills Talking rolling eyes fix on lies the flame from their plots strip the sky a wolf in sheep's clothing; a simple disguise can be bought and sold in a blink on an eye Oh can we stop this machine? ever turning it's cogs through flesh stomping and pounding, it screams for more I'd rather just take my sleeping pills

Soul Divine 05:25
Look around you, see the signs of a society in decline used to work, used to enterprise now it simply manifests it own demise I will be the soul divine I will be a soul divine I will be and you shall see from now until the end of time There comes a time to mend the broken and account for all the lies we've spoken the choices are to hide the proof or become a martyr and die for the truth I will be the soul divine I will be a soul divine I will be and you shall see from now until the end of time The hour glass is losing sand even the government won't understand that we only have limited time if we want to see, if we want to be I will be the soul divine I will be a soul divine I will be and you shall see from now until the end of time

The Inventor 16:21
I am the inventor but I grow weary of space and time I must invent a place where I can surely shine I must invent the time I must invent the place I must devise the human race I want to create something perfect by design I want to create something who knows they are mine I must invent the time I must invent the place I must devise the human race How shall it sprout? this experiment of mine how shall I play the progression of mankind? will I find redemption? or will I fall from grace? can I even find myself within the human race? I must invent the time I must invent the place I must devise the human race I started it with a bang and the great plan had begun the monuments where raised straight from the ground which I had made the intelligence that I am left no questions to be raised despite the victories of my days at night you can hear me say Save me, save my from myself save me, my heart has turned to rotting gold save me, save my from myself save me, my heart has turned to rotting gold In the chapels they start to wonder whose life their living, theirs or mine? The thread between their hearts and mine grows thinner everyday I've since become a mirage in a world I used to own with the disappearing of my days at night you can hear me say Save me, save my from myself save me, my heart has turned to rotting gold save me, save my from myself save me, my heart has turned to rotting gold I can feel myself transform I no longer know myself what have I become? the pain in seeking glory has surely left me blind My people have abandoned me and left me in the cold proving that society is only bought and sold The time has counted down and my war has just been waged was it good or was it bad? or was it all just staged? I must invent the time I must invent the place I must devise the human race I invented a time I invented a place I created them all only to have it blow up in my face This is an epitaph for all those who design for all those dreams that were crushed, just like mine this is an epitaph for all those who design. for all those dreams that were crushed, just like mine

Light beats down upon fallen grace a child dies from human disgrace moving along in a semi-circle falling over every hurtle sand moves across a barren shore honesty's blood spilled on the floor as you walk on through these golden doors haven't you had this feeling many times before? So you lie, lie, lie lie your way through everything try, try, try try to erase the truth climb, climb, climb climb to your broken foothold die, die, die die for your profit gain As your greedy fingers scrape the dawn can't you see that your life is gone? sold to money and corporate greed is this what the world really needs? So you lie, lie, lie lie your way through everything try, try, try try to erase the truth climb, climb, climb climb to your broken foothold die, die, die die for your profit gain Under a translucent sun, we throw ourselves away (throw ourselves away) climbing back on our broken morals, we try and fix the day (fix the day) under our broken sky, we melt like summer rain climbing back on our broken dreams, we try and fix the day Under a translucent sun

A maiden voyage in a black hole that's where I be, remembering you I followed the threads of my heart and it lead me into the dark This is the end of everything (this is end of everything) this is the end of everything (this is end, this is the end) this is the end of everything (this is end of everything) this is the end of everything (this is end, this is the end) What you are is a reflection of what I was carried on a wave of dark you threw away when I was a-ground you left me here to waste away This is the end of everything (this is end of everything) this is the end of everything (this is end, this is the end) this is the end of everything (this is end of everything) this is the end of everything (this is end, this is the end) This is the end of everything (this is end of everything) this is the end of everything this is the end of everything (this is end of everything) this is the end of everything This the end of everything this is the end of everything this is the end of everything this is the end, this is the end, this is the end

about

Songs for Trees is the passionate, playful and provocative debut album of Unspoken Ethos, a four-piece alternative rock band heavily influenced by jazz, progressive rock and metal.

Displaying virtuosity beyond their years, Unspoken Ethos gels into a groove that is irresistible and satisfying, with riffs and hooks that seduce. From the towering keyboard mastery of Ashton Wisener, to the aching guitar solos of Will Hansen, the band is anchored by the tight rhythms of bassist John Janigan-Mills and the fluid percussion of Morgan Zwicker. The quartet totally grok each other’s musicianship and approach; hence the band name.

Co-produced by legendary musician and producer Skip Beckwith, Songs for Trees is a compelling plea for humans to look at what they are doing to each other and the planet, and stop destroying everything.

- THANK YOU -

The band would like to thank their family, friends and teachers for all the support. The biggest of thank yous goes to Barry/Cindy Wisener, Karen Janigan/Greg Mills, Sherry/Mark Zwicker and Denise Parrott/David Hansen for their everlasting support and love.
